Some of the most common stuff I hear?
Ugh, I need to lose weight.
You look perfect. Look at me!
I’m so stupid, I can’t believe I did that.
And things I never hear?
Man I look hot in this dress
I am so proud of myself for doing X
I sleep for 9 hours a night, but the time isn’t a waste ’cause I need it.
WTF, ladies? I know it’s not just ladies, but particularly when it comes to lovin’ our bodies we are less than enthusiastic. And that can be a big problem for a lot of reasons, but because you are here, I want to mention how much of a problem it can be for your cycle health.
That’s right. The more you are critical of your body, the more your body is going to rebel against you. For real! This is particularly true if you hate on your period or other very womanly pieces of you.
Since I don’t want that for you, and I bet you don’t want that for you either, check out my top 5 tips to loving your body more. Simple to do and will help your body love grow by leaps and bounds.
What are your favorite ways to love your body? Have you had any big changes after starting to appreciate your body? Let me know in the comments!

Very fun way to present your ideas! Number 5 is great because the body truly is an amazing machine, and we do often take that for granted when we pick apart our appearance. One way I’ve learned to appreciate my body, particularly when I’m in the midst of hormonal weight gain, is appreciating how strong I am getting, like when I lift heavier weights or can do longer sprints. Thanks for sharing your tips with us…

That’s awesome! I actually had a cycle that my body felt particularly *ahem*expansive*ahem* at the end of last year (not super typical for me) and I actually treated it as just that – Having an expansive body. I was thinking “My body is showing me it can expand to do anything I need it to do.”

Such a funny video! :) LOL I liked that you played two parts in the compliments tip (the girl with and without the jacket). I liked all of the tips and try to follow all of them. For my “me” time I like to exercise. Sometimes my workout will be intense with squats and push-ups AND a jog through the park, but other days it’s relaxed stretching while watching a funny show. Any kind of physical activity usually makes me feel good about myself. Stretching relaxes me and is good for tight muscles from physical or emotional stress. Tougher workouts make me feel proud for getting though the routine and make me feel strong emotionally and physically.
Also, I agree that charting made me think that my body is amazing and RAD!

I make a conscious effort to appreciate what my body has to offer with health, strength, power, soft skin. I do tell myself loving thoughts and try to push the negative thoughts away as fast as possible….it’s a challenge because I definitely have a lot of critiques, but the more I show love, the better I feel…so it works for me.

Totally. I’m not perfect, but I can see the difference in how I thought about my body versus, say, high school and now.

Great tips, it is so important to love ourselves and develop an appreciation for our bodies just the way we are. I always feel better when I’m taking care of myself, this one is so important. Even if it’s just forcing myself to dress nicely and wear a little makeup, it makes a world of difference.

Totally! There is a difference between the way I feel on days I dress up and those I don’t. I use the term “dress-up” loosely, though ;)
